Tero Group works across East Africa, designing, building and running the businesses that put value within reach.

We work across East Africa. Rwanda is where we have started.
A value chain is everything between a resource and the person who uses it. Growing, collecting, treating, processing, moving, selling. When every part of it works, the resource reaches people and the value stays in the economy that produced it.
What we look for is potential that is already there and not yet reaching anyone. Food that could reach a buyer and does not. Water running past a village that could be made safe to drink. Processing that could happen here, close to the source, rather than somewhere the margin goes with it.
Our approach is industrial. We study the chain, engineer a solution, then build and run it ourselves. Technology usually sits at the centre, whether it is a digital tool putting information in a farmer's hands or the systems monitoring a water unit from a distance.

We start by understanding how a chain actually runs. Who handles what, where it costs more than it should, and what stops the resource reaching the people who need it.
Every gap has its own volumes, conditions and costs. We work those out before designing anything, and we test what we design in the place it will run.
Engineering and technology do the work here. We build what the chain was missing, rather than importing something designed for a different set of conditions.
We operate what we build. Each business stays inside the group, employs people locally, and answers for its own performance.

NutriPack makes nutrition products in East Africa from locally grown and locally sourced ingredients, including produce that would otherwise go unused. It is developed to meet institutional and regulatory standards and to stay affordable in everyday retail. It also gives farmers a dependable buyer for what they grow.

Water for Life supplies solar powered units that turn the water a site already has into safe drinking water, for households, schools, clinics, businesses and whole communities.
Learn more about Water for LifeAn economic growth platform with social outcomes, not an aid programme. When a resource is handled near where it comes from, the work, the wages and the margin stay in the same economy, and that economy strengthens year on year instead of waiting on what gets sent in.
A chain is only worth building if what comes out of it is worth having. Nutrition in the years that decide how a child grows, and water that is safe where it is drawn. Between them they decide whether a household is well enough to work, learn and earn.
Local resources solve local problems once they are properly connected. Less is lost, more is made from what a place already has, and clean water exists where there was none to begin with.

Tero Group is part of the Connecting Communities (CC) platform, which brings connectivity, digital services and essential infrastructure to communities that have not yet been reached.
Its community smart hubs (CSH) are shared sites that put internet access, digital services and community facilities in one place. Where a hub sits close to where we work, it gives us a practical route to the communities involved, somewhere to site processing or storage near the source, and somewhere people can sell what they produce. The people behind CC have spent years building infrastructure businesses in emerging markets, and that experience is available to the companies in the platform.
If any of this is close to what you do, we would like to hear from you.
